Australia’s active vaccine safety system
In collaboration with National Prescribing Service MedicineWise and the Telethon Kids Institute, AusVaxSafety is analysing NPS MedicineInsight data to monitor zoster (shingles) vaccine safety following its introduction on the National Immunisation Program from November 2016 for adults aged 70 years and older.
NPS MedicineInsight is a national health information program funded by the Australian Government Department of Health that collects de-identified primary healthcare data from general practices across Australia. AusVaxSafety is currently analysing this rich clinical dataset to learn more about presentations to general practices for adverse events following zoster immunisation in seniors.
